Encounters With The Scriptures pt 82
Monday August 24, 2020
By Dr. Olufemi Fadeyi

When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.(Isaiah 41:17-18 KJV)

God loves humanity and we need to embrace His love for us. He knows how our existence abhors thirst and there are occasions when we would have done everything possible as humans to get our thirst quenched and the best of our efforts has been an exercise in futility. Then our Creator says, at such junctions of our lives, He will arise supernaturally for our help.

This was the case in Exodus 17 when the Children of Israel were thirsty. They all cried out to Moses and vexed his soul and spirit. In turn, he cried unto God and the Lord went to stand ahead of him on mount Horeb. He said to him, with some elders of Israel, strike the rock and water will come forth. Moses got to the rock and the Lord fulfilled his promise.

Prayer
Oh Lord, to quench our thirst, please lead us as you led Moses in JESUS mighty name
